Photography Competition updates for 2024/2025
I do sometimes like to take part in photography competitions and here are some updates from competitions from last year and the early part of this year. For anyone thinking of entering a photography competition or international photographic salon then I think it is well worth a go. There are plenty of clubs/mentoring or online courses that can help you on that journey and you never quite know what will be accepted.
FIAP 19th World Cup for Clubs 2024. https://www.fiap.net/en/world-cup-for-clubs
I was really pleased to be included with a great team of members from Dorchester Camera Club who represented the club in the FIAP 19th World Cup for Clubs 2024. FIAP stands for Federation Internationale De L’ Art Photographique. The International Federation of Photographic Art which is an International organisation of national associations of photography and holds an annual world wide competition for open clubs to compete in the World Cup for Clubs.
I was delighted that Dorchester Camera Club reached 11th place out of 292 clubs worldwide, we just missed the 10th place by about 1 point but still a great achievement for the club. I was really pleased to have gained an acceptance with Black Tailed Godwit Touchdown which helped with our overall score. Congrats to the other members and Catchlight Camera Club who achieved first place overall.
Individual National and International Photography Salons 2024/2025

WCPF Kingswood Salver 2024.
The WCPF which stands for Western Counties Photographic Federation holds an annual competition for a themed panel of prints by five different photographers so quite tricky! Pleased to say that Dorchester Camera Club received 3rd place overall with our nature themed panel called “Cleared for Landing” and I had a 2nd place in the individual prints for my Black Tailed Godwit Touchdown. A big thanks to Jane and Stephen for their hard work on the panel and choosing the entries. Well done to the other members who contributed to a great panel.
